A Beautiful Place

Today I went to one of the most beautiful places on earth: A mossy green pool surrounded by cliffs with a ruby-red dragon fly zipping over the water and a frog clinging to a branch.

This is a sacred place, the place of Nacapule. Ancient Yaqui people believed that it was sacred because it provided them with everything they needed: food, water and shelter.

They touched their arrows and spears to the skin of a special frog who had poison on its skin.

The place is filled to the brim with beautiful butterflies, so many it could hold no more.

We scrambled over rocky cliffs and even up a sheer 15ft rock with only a worn out rope to hold us. All in all it’s a sacred place.

the view from the swimming pool
We're back in civilization folks! I mean hot water, sit down restaurants, lettuce, fresh food, a swimming pool, doughnuts at the store. . . What more could a girl want? Anyways we're back in the CITY! Or rather, San Carlos. There's a supermarket here, can you believe it? I can't. Oh it's so exiting! HURRAH!
