Goodbyes

We've begun the process of saying goodbye. There are so many things,
people and places that Maia will miss.Today we walked to school and
recalled what it was like in Kindergarten when we told each other
stories as we walked or looked for treasures. We're hoping to spread out
the hardest goodbyes so they don't hurt too much.

Visiting Annapolis and NYC and DC

Over spring break Maia and I headed back to the land of her birth. We stayed aboard our friends' Cindy, Doug and Zach's catamaran in Annapolis and explored the area then headed to NYC for a couple of days.

In NYC we were so happy to see Asha and Willa again after so many years ( and meet Cade!)
Maia and Willa played as well as they did when they were babes!

Playa Del Carmen Mexico

Maia came along on a work trip and had a few nice experiences including releasing a turtle,

relaxing with another writer's kid
hanging at the beach
leaping into cenotes

we also went snorkeling in cenotes
rode a sky cycle
and explored the jungle

It was your typical business trip. But she did her best to make due...
